Cash lessons are *cash* only please (Not venmo, zelle, paypal etc...) Lately I've been getting a lot of people booking & not showing up for lessons. There's no prepayment required for cash lessons so please let me know if you can't make it with at least a 48 hour notice so I can relist the time slot for other people to book. Check the calendar before purchasing to make sure the date you want is available. Thanks!

Please give at least 48 hours notice to reschedule by either emailing Eric at [email protected] - or Cell 603-283-8039* My life revolves around your appointment & I sometimes travel from other states to be here for your lesson so ample notice is required.
Is there a fee for last minute rescheduling or missing my appointment?
I require at least a 48 hours notice. If you don't reschedule with at least 48 hours notice or you forget to show up for the lesson, there is a $25 rebooking fee.
What if I missed the opportunity to redeem my Groupon, Living Social or Amazon Local?
Please Email me with you name(s), telephone number(s), Voucher Number(s) at [email protected] to work out scheduling & payment details.
What's the address & where should I park?
My new studio address is 86 Joy street, Somerville MA 02143 There are 2 hour parking spots located on Joy street in front of the building & down the road also. You can also park in the parking lot to 86 Joy St. Please call or text Eric at 603-283-8039 when you Arrive. *Carpooling is recommended:)
What should I wear?
My studio is heated for colder days or AC cooled for warmer day so layers to remove are a good idea after coming in from the cold during winter months. Close toed shoes are a must(No Flip Flops/Sandals). Cotton clothes work best(Avoid melt-able highly flammable clothes like polyester or poofy wool sweaters). I recommend jeans, a cotton shirt & a cotton hooded sweatshirt if it's a cold day. *Clothes that you don't mind getting dirty* - During Summer months the studio gets pretty warm so dress lightly(Shorts, t-shirt etc..) Bring water to drink.
What should I bring with me?
Bring a mask if you'd like, also bring your printed Voucher Number/Gift certificate if you have one or have it ready to pull up on your phone for scanning if it's a groupon. Also bring something to drink & a snack of your liking. Beer & wine are acceptable. (*See "What should I wear"*)
What kinds of things do you make?
I work with Pyrex/borosilicate glass so the possibilities are nearly endless. I create sculptural animals, creatures & sea life, marbles, beads, rings, ornaments, jars, glassware, pendants, paperweights, trees, shot glasses, ashtrays & much much more. Currently I create a variety of over a 100 different styles of pieces.
Do you offer advanced lessons?
Advance lessons are available. Please see the "Shop" section of my site or the "Groupon Class Schedule" tab for details. I also offer package deals for people wanting to advance their skills. Email me with any questions you may have here.
What is the minimum age for taking a class?
The minimum age requirement is 16 yrs old to take the class. All students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or person over 18. The class space is limited to 2 students per session. 3 people can be an option but email to discuss! Larger classes will be available in the future.
What is included with the 3 hour lesson?
The lesson includes all glass & supplies needed during the 3 hours.(Color is limited to a fair amount per student). All finished student pieces can be picked up at a later date. Shipping is available for a fee & that can be purchased through the shop section of my website or worked out at the end of the lesson.
Is there a risk of injury?
Glassblowing/Flameworking is fairly safe. I give a quick lesson on proper safety in the shop. Although it's not expected, minor burns or cuts can occur on a rare occasion. If this happens, my studio is properly equipped with burn cream & a medic kit.
What will I learn & be able to make?
The lesson will start with a brief discussion about safety & the equipment. Then I will give a short demo on the basics of flameworking(Welding, controlling molten glass & color stretching). Following that I will do a quick demo to show you all the steps needed to create a finished work of art such as(Beads, pendants, marbles, fridge magnets, drink stirrers, ornaments, animal/sea sculptures & smaller more manageable items for beginners). The class will allow for over 2 hours of torch time with brief tutorials & demo's to help the students understand the process of flameworking better. *Future classes will focus on more in depth lessons such as surface worked patterns, larger animals/figurines, paperweights and working with larger tubing & rods to make more intricate projects.
Can I purchase finished or custom made pieces?
I enjoy making custom glass pieces for my students & customers. I also have many cases of finished pieces you can browse through. Feel free to bring along a checkbook, cash, credit, or debit if you have something in mind you'd like to have me create.
