Sharon NH Studio
I began my glass career in August of 2000 in Woods Hole, MA apprenticing under Derek Heagerty in an abandoned sailboat floating in Woods Hole Harbor. After a short stay in Cape Cod, Derek and I began traveling around the country going to festivals and shows demonstrating the art of flameworking to crowds of viewers. We finally ended up in Taos, NM in December of 2000 after my five month apprenticeship. I then decided to make my way back to Pembroke MA to start my own business.
After 9 months of practicing & sharpening my skills, I made my way from across country to Oakland, CA to build a studio with my older Brother. Once the studio was complete, I began working as a street vendor in front of Oakland’s City hall selling with many other talented artists throughout the winter.
In April of 2002, I once again made a move from coast to coast to reside in Pembroke, MA to re-establish my home base & build a better glass studio where I could teach my trade to friends & family.
Then In December of 2002 after a busy spring, summer & fall, I began selling my work to “Pairpoint Crystal” a glassblowing factory in Sagamore, MA. In early spring of 2003, I started doing live demonstrations every weekend at Pairpoint with Robbie and Paul Mason, Alister Ross, Dan Auclair and many other talented Furnace glassblowers throughout the next year.
A few years later in 2005 I began teaching at Sparqs Industrial Arts Club in Woburn, MA & upon the unfortunate and quick closing of Sparqs after only a few months, I made my way to Peterborough, NH to work & reside with friends.
In April of 2006 I took on an apprenticeship with Javier Vazquez, A talented glass artist in Orange California who had over 25 years of glass blowing experience & is a direct descendant of a family with over 50 years of experience with glass in the United States through Disney.
When my apprenticeship was complete I once again decided to bring what I had learned back to New England where I’ve been living, working, doing demo’s & teaching my art ever since. I currently reside & work in Somerville Massachusetts.
