What if I missed the opportunity to redeem my Groupon, Living Social or Amazon Local?

Please Email me with you name(s), telephone number(s), Voucher Number(s) at eduyette@gmail.com to work out scheduling & payment details.

What's the address & where should I park?

My new studio address is 86 Joy street, Somerville MA 02143

ATTENTION:
There are 2 hour parking spots located on Joy street. Since classes are 3 hours long they can be used but with the understanding you may need to move spots to avoid a ticket(They ticket very rarely in the 2 hour limit spots). Visitor pass is an option. Please call Eric at 603-283-8039 when you Arrive. *Carpooling is recommended:)* Also read all signs when parking to avoid street sweeping tickets.

What should I wear?

My studio is heated so layers to remove are a good idea after coming in from the cold during winter months. Close toed shoes are a must(No Flip Flops/Sandals). Cotton clothes work best(Avoid melt-able highly flammable clothes like polyester or poofy wool sweaters). I recommend jeans, a cotton shirt & a cotton hooded sweatshirt if it's a cold day. *Clothes that you don't mind getting dirty*  - During Summer months the studio gets pretty warm so dress lightly(Shorts, t-shirt etc..) Bring water to drink.

What should I bring with me?

Bring your printed Voucher Number or have it ready to pull up on your phone for scanning. Also bring something to drink & a snack of your liking. (*See "What should I wear"*)

What kinds of things do you make?

I work with Pyrex/borosilicate glass so the possibilities are nearly endless. I create sculptural animals, creatures & sea life, marbles, beads, rings, ornaments, jars, glassware, pendants, paperweights, trees, shot glasses, ashtrays & much much more. Currently I create a variety of over a 100 different styles of pieces.

Do you offer advanced lessons?

Advance lessons are available. Please see the "Shop" section of my site or the "Groupon Class Schedule" tab for details. Email me with any questions you may have here.

What is the minimum age for taking a class?

The minimum age requirement is 16 yrs old to take the class. All students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or person over 18. The class space is limited to 2 students per session.

What is included with the 3 hour lesson?

The lesson includes all glass & supplies needed during the 3 hours.(Color is limited to a fair amount per student). All finished products by the students can be picked up at a later date. Shipping is available for a fee through the Shop section of my site*

Is there a risk of injury?

Glassblowing/Flameworking is fairly safe. I give a quick lesson on proper safety in the shop. Although it's not expected, minor burns or cuts can occur on a rare occasion. If this happens, my studio is properly equipped with burn cream &  a medic kit.

What will I learn & be able to make?

The lesson will start with a brief discussion about safety & the equipment. Then I will give a short demo on the basics of flameworking(Welding, controlling molten glass & color stretching). Following that I will do a quick demo to show you all the steps needed to create a finished work of art such as(Beads, pendants, marbles, fridge magnets, drink stirrers, ornaments, animal/sea sculptures & smaller more manageable items for beginners). The class will allow for over 2 hours of torch time with brief tutorials & demo's to help the students understand the process of flameworking better. *Future classes will focus on more in depth lessons such as surface worked patterns, larger animals/figurines, paperweights and working with larger tubing & rods to make more intricate projects.

Can I purchase finished or custom made pieces?

I enjoy making custom glass pieces for my students & customers. Feel free to bring along a checkbook, cash, credit, or debit if you have something in mind you'd like to have me create.
